While I have been on the internet from my home computer, all of a sudden the screen will go blank and I hear 3 beeps Repeatedly, then the screen will come on for about 1 second then go blank and start beeping again. This has happened 2 times within the past two weeks and when I'm only on the internet. I use MS Internet Explorer 5.0 and Window 98SE. I will end up having to just turn the power off to get out of that loop when I do this and reboot Windows loses my modem. All I do then is a regular shutdown, power off for about 5 minutes, then reboot again then everthing will be all right for who knows for how long. Any suggestions will help me a lot. Thank you

right click on desktop, properties, screensaver, go down to power saving, turn all of them off, also in the BIOS turn off power saving <p>Karl<br><a href=mailto:kb244@kb244.8m.com>kb244@kb244.8m.com</a><br><a href= </a><br>Experienced in , or have messed with : VC++, Borland C++ Builder, VJ++6(starting),VB-Dos, VB1 thru VB6, Delphi 3 pro, Borland C++ 3(DOS), Borland C++ 4.5, HTML, ASP(somewhat), QBasic(least i didnt start with COBOL)

your systems is going into standby. via the system bios

reboot and enter the bios by tapping one of three keys DEL,F1,F2 which one depends on the computer. i usaly cycle them with my fingers to get in...

once in look for a option that says power management or like wise then turn it all off or set it to disabled..
exit the bios saving all changes and your pc will restart.
you should be fine if your pc still has errors of locks up after a while it mast likly has a heat or hardware problem
and you should have it looked at by a hardware professional.
