Hi:

Everytime I import an AVI into director and switch to a regular jpeg image after the AVI completes, I get the background of the last frame of the AVI for a couple of seconds as a blank image before the jpeg image appears. The AVI has music too. I use Director 6.5.

Can anyone help out pl?

Can somebody also tell me whether MPEG/MP3 can be imported into Director. This is to keep the filesize down and is not useful if Director resamples the file back to it's original size.

Thanks in advance

mp3s work fine, do a search on mpeg to find posts other people have made, this issue comes up lots and I'm sure someone covers if you need xtras and stuff like that.

My system for your current problem (I am trying to remember back about 1.5 - 2 years) was to check when the movie was finished, have the jpg I needed behind it and move the avi off screen. Switching the cast member will never look good, you have to play with other methods like this one to get it to work, but it can be done with enough experimentation.

hmm, they were in 7, I though they were implemented in 6. The way you import them has changed, they were under the insert media element menu at one stage. I think it was 8 when they became just like any other cast member.

Thanks Horrid

I am able to crack the blank screen problem on my machine in the office where i have an Athlon processor with 256 MB RAM,50X CD ROM Drive, but at home where I have an old P II 400 Mhz with 64 MB RAM and 40X CD ROM Drive, i Still get a delay, small though. I have to work on making this CD ROM playable in all home PC's. I am still experimenting.

Thanks a lot at least I have been able to take one step forward.

Reg MP3, 7 supports import but still resamples the filesize back to the original wav file size. Maybe 8 will work better.
