Is there a way to eliminate blank rows in an excel worksheet? Anyone? Thanks in advance...

Hi,

Avoid letting blank rows happen to begin with. But maybe you have no control over the data.

If you have blank rows, select the COLUMNS containing the data (assuming that your data begins in ROW 1)

Data > Sort on any column.

All the empty rows will sort together to the bottom. Your data now has no empty rows.

Or filter so that only the blank rows are visible, and then delete them.

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

Thanks everyone. I did some more investigating and found this solution the best. Sorting, even though it works it will sort your headers and such, okay its fine if all you have is data rows and blank rows. In any case, this is what I ran with...

Procedure to eliminate blank rows from excel worksheet:

Click the letter A.
Hit Edit>Go To>Special…>Blanks>OK.
Hit Edit>Delete>Entire row>OK.

Thanks for the time and consideration.

No, no, no.

The solution you are using is fine, but sorting WILL also work just fine.

If you just use the little buttons in the toolbar, Excel tries to guess whether you have headers. To help excel distinguish headers from data, you can make your headers bold or place a bottom border on the cells of the header row. Besides, that makes it easier to read the data anyway.

Or, if you go to Data > Sort, you are given the option to mark either Header row or no header row.
