I'm having a problem with some reports. I have a main report with several subreports inside. When the data fits into one page, the report comes up fine, but when the data carries over to more than one page, I get a blank page first and then my report. I thought it might be the margins of the subreports, but they're fine. I get the same result when I try to print the report. Since the pages are numbered, that means page 1 is blank. Page 2 prints exactly right.

These are daily reports. Sometimes the data will fit in one page. Sometimes it won't. Does anyone have any ideas?

In the main report check that the property of the sub-report has CanShrink set to Yes

Good idea. I hadn't set that right in the subreports. However, it didn't work for me. I set the properties so that Can Shrink is yes and Can Grow is yes, but I still get that blank page.

Thanks anyway.

Have you checked Keep Together and Force New Page properties?

I had the Keep together set to yes. I changed it in every subreport, but no change in the results. I don't have it set to force a new page. I think I might lose my mind on this one.

Just another thought!

You said you have checked the margins - but I have had similar problems and found that very often there was a minute formatting line - usually very close to the grey section separator's that extended a little too far. Once I found this and re-sized it, then dragged the page size in, it worked. It's worth checking if you have anything in the header section extending above the page.

I have found that sometimes there are lines (as in ruled lines) that, unnoticed, stretch slightly (or a lot!) beyond the edge of the page. You could double check these as well.

JJohns,

Sometimes, if the width of the report (in design view) is greater that 6.5, every other page is blank when you try to print it. check out your deign view and try to get the report width under 6.5. Hope that helps.
