Blank message and contact bodies in Exchange

I am experiencing the following:

I have users, including myself, finding that the body of messages that were just sent, or of older messages, are getting 'blanked out'. The message header is there, and even attachments, but the text of the message is missing.

This behavior appears to be intermittent, and I cannot find any patter.

This has also happened to Contacts in Outlook clients. Not to all contacts.

I am running Exchange 2003 Server, on Win 2003 Server, not SP1. Clients affected include Outlook 2000, 2002 and OWA. Clients are using data stored in mailboxes on the server. I am running Groupshield 6.0 on the Exchange server, and McAfee VirusScan 7 and 8 on the clients.

I have a consultant running diagnostics on the server, but have not yet found anything that indicates why this is occurring.

Any help, direction or hints are greatly appreciated.

Did you get to the bottom of this?

I have a client that occasionally attaches a contact to an email and sends, but sometimes at the recipients end the contact sheet is blank (and has been known to appear like a msg file).

JuzzyD:

We actually ended up rebuilding the Exchange server. There was significant corruption in the Exchange database. We had planned to build a new server anyway; the process of migrating mailboxes to the new server appeared to have resolved the problem.

Good luck
Andy
