i've got a report which is grouped by category. an employee may be one of the 6 different categories. what i want the report to do is to show the 6 different categories with the percentage of people in each one.

what's happening is that the report is leaving blank lines on each page. i've tried adding 'select distinct' to the sql statement of the query which the report runs off, but it's not working.

would really appreciate any help on this.

thread703-288380 had a similar question yesterday.

Sometimes before posting a question, if you do a KEYWORD search in a forum you might find your answer and won't need to post your question.

jim,

i did do a keyword search before i posted my thread, and i did read that thread already, but it doesn't help me because my question is different than his, which is why i posted my question.

i've already tried the can grow, can shrink options, but they don't work for me.

basically all my report is doing is diplaying the total for each category, but i don't want to show the employees. what it seems to be doing is leaving a blank line for each employee even though i'm not showing the employee.

i have no idea how to get rid of those blank lines.
