I have an export to excel report that I've created with v8.5. On my side of things, I export it then open within excel it looks great, but at the customer, they have a blank line between each detail row. I've looked to see that there is no white space under the fields and the column headers. I've had them copy an updated version of u2fxls.dll into the C:\Windows\Crystal directory.

Any thoughts?

They are exporting to Excel Extended 8.0 and opening with Excel XP.

Last year, there was a change in Crystal 8.5 that improved it a great deal. Since your export-choice says Excel Extended rather than MS Excel 97, an update should fix it. These are supplied free by Business Objects and you need to contact them.

Why would i not see the problem but they would even though we are using the same u2fxls.dll which is the excel export .dll?

I've sent the customer an even newer export .dll to see if it fixes it. Could it be in the way that Excel is reading in the data...

Madawc...I see you are from East Anglia....when I was younger I played a football team from East Anglia at the US's largest football tournament....the Easy Anglia Boys...

I wonder if they are exporting it in non-tabular format. When I do that in 8.0, I get lines between the rows, but my headings preserved correctly. When I use tabular format, the lines between details are omitted, although I lose some headings...
