Hi,
In January our NEC SV8100 was upgraded to SV9100. We use a mix of digital and VOIP phones. Last week friday a good deal of the digital phones (DT 300 NEC DTL-24D-1A) started getting BLANK displays. Pressing the dimness button would have no effect, unplugging the phone line would have no effect, the display would simply be blank. Everything else would work fine. [calling out, recieving calls, phone buttons work fine , button lights work fine]. Some phones would be completely blank for sometime but then flicker really quickly. If i replace any of the affected phones with spares, they would work fine but the same thing happens at some point. Restarting PABX made no changes. On Monday some phones started working fine again after unplugging/reconnecting the phone line however some of the phones that were replaced still have the blank display or flickering display.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Our NEC dealer says it might be the phones dying due to age but it doesn't make sense this many phones just dying on the same day. Especially if some start working after some period of time
