I honestly dont know what i changed, but now some links on web pages arent openeing up the pages they should. Or, rather they are but the pages are blank. I thought it might be zone alarm, again, but i havent played with that recently and i tried setting everything to 0 security but nothing changed. i tried changing to the defualts in IE, but to no avail.
what could be causing this?

Also, i just got an error message:
line: 1
char: 1
error: class not registered
code: 0
URL:
got that when i tried to go from the homepage to my email inbox.
really annoying me now becuase a lot o the places i could go to for help, open up blank!
grrr.

Sounds like a Java issue to me.Check you have Java enabled in Tools---Options----Advanced.
Also if you run Sun's Java it can be incompatible with MS Java sites and vice-versa.

you could be right. the thing is when i copy and paste the properties of the shortcut into the address bar the page opens up fine - unless its a java script.
and i tried disabling sun java and enabling microsoft virtual machine in the advanced options page. still doesnt work. how do i know if i have the latest version? or does that not matter? i'm running XP with SP1.

Howdy:

The "blank pages" issue is a known problem with IE6..

Try this..

Start>Run Type in regsvr32.exe urlmon.dll (copy and paste the command if you want) and then press <enter>

Wait for the confirmation and reboot.

GENIUS!
thanks a lot mate, works perfectly now.
what did i do anyway?

Howdy:

You simply told Windows to "register" the fact that you can have more than one window open and running at a time (to put things simple)..
