When I click on the history button in my Internet Explorer 6, the history pane that comes up on the left side is blank. It shows "Today", View, and Search. However if I click on the Today, it doesn't expand. So essentially, nothing is being kept there. However, IE does keep a cache of all the pages that I have viewed. I have cleared my history, cookies, and temporary files. Autocomplete for web address is on. When I enter a URL in the address bar for a site that I have visited before, the autocomplete will show the sites. But if I were to close IE, and type in the address again, autocomplete wouldn't work. Anybody out there can help me view my history?? THANKS!

Sounds like the IE may be broke or something messed up in the registry.

Try this:

windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFIX.htm

Follow the instructions on that website and run the tool.

Hope this helps,

Erik

OK,

Try this.

Click Start, Run and type the command below:

REGSVR32 /i SHDOCVW.DLL

I'm using Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition 7.60.926

Installed Smart Protector trial version, and that fixed it. It seems to have deleted all of my temporary internet files and index.dats. That allowed IE to make a new, clean index.dat. Thanks for the replies!
