Why is counting the BLANK cells...
"I can't use Del key because there's a formula that I need...
Thnks...

Are the cells actually blank or do they contain formulas?

JP

A cell with a formula is not blank. I was battling a similar issue this week and had to use a different formula.

JP

Your formula contains a lot of specific references. It is a better approch to use a RANGE and a conditional formula like COUNTIF or even SUMPRODUCT in some cases.

And, yes. A formula in a cell returning a zero lenght string is not empty.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE NOW... but it counts blank cells because its formulas.
How can I do the formula if >="0" Is that possible....

Sorry... I'm ready to give up
I'm getting this error...
"You've entered too many arguments for this function"

=COUNTIF(D3,F3,I3,K3,M3,P3,R3,T3,W3,Y3,AA3,AD3,AF3,AH3,AK3,AM3)+COUNTA(AO3,AR3,AT3,AV3,AY3,BA3,BC3,BF3,BH3,BJ3,BM3,BO3,BQ3,BT3,BV3,BX3,CA3,CC3,CE3,DE3CG3,CJ3,CL3,CN3,CP3,CS3,CU3,CW3,CY3)+COUNTA(DB3,DD3,DF3,DH3)+COUNTA(DK3,DM3,DO3,DQ3,DS3,DU3,DW3,DY3,EB3,ED3,EF3,EH3,EK3,EM3,EO3,EQ3),>="0"

I have NEVER EVER had so many separate references in a function, in ALL of your approches. There must be another way; a much better way.

You have asked a question like, "How can I drive in a nail with a screwdriver?" Well, in some limited number of cases, there may be a way. But that is really not the right tool.

So lets start with you explaining WHAT you need to accomplish, not HOW you think you need to do it.

Please be clear, concise and complete.

1). Every cell represents a SOCCER WORLCUP GAME.= Total 64 Games
2). Every cell is connected to another worksheet...
3). Every cell will show any score between 0 and up (>=0)

I want to show the numbers of game played every day.

sorry I'm NOT an expert I'm learning from you..

Thanks....
Jatolo

"every cell" is not very descriptive.

You have reference for...
[tt]
D3,F3,I3,K3,M3,P3,R3,T3,W3,Y3,AA3,AD3,AF3,AH3,AK3,AM3
[/tt]
Why THOSE cells?

What's in the OTHER cells in that row?

Is there nothing in any other row?

Why is your data organized from column D thru EQ?

Please answer each of these questions.

Sorry I made a mistake..
Every single cell is organized... (64) Games...
=COUNTIF(D3,F3,I3,K3,M3,P3,R3,T3,W3,Y3,AA3,AD3,AF3,AH3,AK3,AM3,AO3,AR3,AT3,AV3,AY3,BA3,BC3,BF3,BH3,BJ3,BM3,BO3,BQ3,BT3,BV3,BX3,CA3,CC3,CE3,DE3CG3,CJ3,CL3,CN3,CP3,CS3,CU3,CW3,CY3,DB3,DD3,DF3,DH3,DK3,DM3,DO3,DQ3,DS3,DU3,DW3,DY3,EB3,ED3,EF3,EH3,EK3,EM3,EO3,EQ3),>="0

PLEASE ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS, starting with the questions in my previous post, and continuing with the questions in this post.

Every single cell is organized

D3,F3,I3,K3......

What about E3?

What about G3?

What about H3?

What about J3?

Jatolo:

Could you post your column and row headers? Maybe someone could help you restructure yor data to make this task simpler?

I wish I could explain it, but the whole process is too complicated.
The 95% is running thanks to THIS WONDERFUL AND HELPFUL FORUM and EXCEL 2003 BIBLE...
Thanks again... but I'M GIVING UP....
I'll try for 2014 SOCCER WORLCUP IN BRAZIL.... ;)

Thanks....
Jatolo

Nine chances out of ten, you have made this MUCH TOO DIFFICULT, because you do not understand the features & capabilitied of Excel.

Can you post your workbook, per [red]Attachment[/red] below?
