Hello

I'll try to be brief & clear

The users do not have an in-house Blackberry server. A few weeks ago, I set up a new user with a handheld using the Desktop Redirector. All good no complaints he gets his email & does not mind leaving his computer on.

Another user received a new blackberry, the 8700 and a tech went over to install the latest Desktop Manager.
Prior to this, user reported being able to send/receive message even when his system was shut down. Now, he has to leave this PC on in order to get emails. I assume the tech installed the new DM using the Redirector feature.

The wireless vendor was contacted & troubleshooting over the phone, I inquired if there's a way to have it set up just like he had it considering there's no BES at their location. Support suggested to set up the webclient at their website however he said it was either creating a contact at the Exchange 2003 server for the wireless vendor email address and have exchange forward email to it and not use Desktop Secure. This in turn won't need the desktop redirector. I think we attempted this by changing the Options> Advanced Applications> Messaging Services> Desktop to Webclient. We deleted the Desktop (CMIME) and support "emailed" the webclient. It never appeared as an option to change it to so higher level support was sought but could not continue troubleshooting due to time constraints

I am not sure how to deal with this one. We just want the user not to use Desktop Redirector like before considering there is no local Blackberry Server.

Thanks in advance,
Angel

If you don't want to use redirector, use Outlook to redirect the email to webclient account or configure it from AD (user properties) to forward the email to webclient.
