My company just rolled out 3.6 desktop software to all users and 2.6 to the actual blackberry devices. Everything works great but we discovered a future problem. All user have outlook xp. We are looking in to upgrading everyone to outlook 2003. The problem is if the user has outlook 2003 the blackberry desktop software can not read our global address list. Meaning company contacts can not be transfered to the blackberry. It is my guess that there must a reg hack that can point the desktop software in the right direction. But I'm just hoping that someone here has come across the same situation. Can anyone help or show me a place that can?

If you do find a hack, maybe you could reply back with it in this forum! I've got a dozen or so people that I've ALREADY upgraded to 2003 and they're all waiting on me to fix their Blackberry sync-ing! :(

I've also encountered this error, RIM says they should have a SP at years end. I'm looking into 3rd party options, can't wait until december to re-sync my BB. if anyone comes up with a workaround please post.

Hey all, I'm in the same boat, but luckliy we are rolling it out only to those who don't have A BB.

I am testing and I did find that if you disable cache mode, the black berry will work.

To disable cache, go to the Mail setting via control panel, view and add changes, go to advance tab and uncheck "Use Cached Exchange Mode".

If you all find a better fix let me know.

I've also found that users internally of my company are getting e-mail twice, when I initiate an e-mail.

I am also having this problem the funny part is that, 2 out of 5 of my sales department canoot get it to work. I just tried unchecking that box for cache mode and it did not work. Keep posted if anyone comes accross anything new?

I tried the cache feature in outlook , and had no luck! Anyone else have any solutions they have heard yet? Yea I've heard about the new desktop coming out in january, I guess we will probably just tell them to deal with it untill that comes out. The only thing that gets me is that 2 out of the 6 that have the bb's at my company were able to sync in their contacts?!?!? Thats what doesnt make any sense to me?

I had the same problem also. However I am having a new one at the same time. What you can do is download sp1 from RIM. If you are using Exchange in native mode, it probably will not work and you need to wait for SP2. If you are using exchange in POP mode, it should work.

My new problem is that messages sent from Outlook 2k3 are not being read on the blackberry. Any ideas???

Thanks,

Fred

I am reliably informed that Exchange server 2003 verios of the blackberry software is out today and the desktop version will be out this friday 30th Jan 2004.

Guys, I was a PALM user for ever and ever and now that I'm using BB is funny that propbably becuase I'm not that expert yet I'm having issues with BB OS version 3.7 and the new BB Desktop Software 3.6. I'm using the Cingular Server because we are just start working on our own WAP App. in the mean time I need a solution, to get this solved ASAP. I'm having the Ouitlook 2003 crash issue using the BB OS 3.7 and the new SP2 from BB.

Any suggestions.

NJA

I am using a BES server with Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2003 with Blackberry's. What I do is I have a pc I use with a BB cadle. I log into the pc as the BB user and open Outlook. I then copy the global list to Outlooks contacts and then sync the BB with the Outlook contacts. Its a few steps but works for now.
