black line through text

Some of my text has blck lines that go through it. I can't seem to figure out what is causing it.

have you checked that you did not inadvertently use a strikethrough style, or that it was not imported with text from another document?

Select the problem test, open Character window and click the upper right triangle for styles and see if Strikethrough is checked.

In some instances the clack line will pass around the text.

There is no strike through.

Are these web site addresses? URLs in a placed Word document often come into InDesign with odd boxes around them.
