Black Box Compact Terminal Server

Anyone has a clue what this box is being use for?

I have an option 11c with compact terminal server connected to 1 of the tty ports. They tty port is program as a CDR. The other unit is connected to the OTM server but this unit is turned off. Not sure if this is being use as a CDR buffer.

Do you need a cdr buffer to collect information for the OTM? Or this is optional.

It's relabeled LanTronix's unit that extends RS-232 serial over an IP network. Direct connect with no buffering.

it takes any tty port (serial) and give's it an ip address plus a network connection.. telnet to that ip and you can get to command line
