black background with #include files 1

Hi,

I'm using two #include files in an .asp page, one to display header information, and another to display a left menu. I put both of them in <td> tags in a table, to position them correctly on the page. The information is coming through o.k., except for a black background underneath where the tables are (actually you have to highlight the background to see the text, except for hyperlinks and a graphic).

Any clues as to why the black background? Could it be my table formatting?

Thanks Drtheater, I actually found the problem; I'm not used to using the <style> tags for formatting, and I had the background set to black in the table format....
