Black and white text combined with picture

I've got a picture with black paint lines on my background
now i want to write black text over it but where it covers the paint lines i want those bits to be white.
Hope someone can help.

This is easy to do if you can get away with rasterizing your text.

Start with 2 layers, your layer with the black lines and a layer with text. Rasterize the text layer, create a mask around the black lines, move to the text layer and select Image - Adjustments- Invert Cmd/Ctrl I. This will turn the masked portion of the text to white.

This is a quick simple but somewhat limiting way of doing this.
