Hi,
I've got a picture of black paint lines on my background and now i want to place black text over it but where the text covers the black lines i want those bits to be white.
Hope somebody can help
ty.

If your background picture is a raster then you would probably be better of doing this in Photoshop. If you cant use Photoshop or another Paint program then if your paint lines are simple enough you could do this: Create your text, convert it to outlines. Get the text in the right spot over the paint lines then grab your pencil tool and trace the paint lines with the pencil on top of your text. When you've got an accurate copy of the paint lines then select both the text and pencil line then click on Object>compound path>make and you will get an inverted version of the paint line through your text like this:

I thought that applying the Difference blend to the text would do the trick, but was wrong (having tried it).

You may be stuck doing it in Photoshop if it's over a photo like that.

ty for your help
