Here's one for the books. Hopefully I'm not the first one to see this.
My boss, who is in the office today, and our CIO, who is at home, have been sending messages to each other all day long. Somehow they just noticed that when they open each others emails, they receive a login box asking them to authenticate with the public side of our Exchange box. The CIO says this only happens with emails from the boss; my boss says this only happens with emails from the CIO! The boss can see the emails in the preview pane just fine. It's only when he clicks to open them that he gets the login box. This is weird.
The Setup:
Exchange 2003 SP2 front-end/back-end environment on Windows Server 2003.
Boss is using Outlook 2003 in the office (LAN connected)
CIO is using Outlook 2003 RPC/HTTP via a DSL connection at home.
Any thoughts?
