Birthday reminders in Outlook

Is there anyway of having reminders pop up in MS Outlook 2000 a few days before every birthday of each contact?

I have over 1000 contacts so obviously dont want to have to manually set up a reminder for each.

Hi, I don't think you can set reminders for contacts -- appointments only. You can set a flag for a contact, which will pop up similar to a reminder, but I don't believe you'll be able to do it across the board. For one thing, unlike a reminder which is set to 1 hour, 1 day, 2 days etc prior to the appointment, you have to select a specific day for a flag to pop up, and that day would be different for each different birthday. You sending cards? That's a lot of birthday cards!

Yeah, birthday cards is the idea. This doesn't sound good then...
