Bios Frezzing?

How come some times I start my computer I go through and it stops on the ASUS screen and dosen't do anything but when I push the tab key and then it starts checking the memory and it dosen't stop, but if i push escape it quits and starts windows just fine. Dose this mean that my bios is bad or my battery is dead or diying very soon. Somebody please help me, Im desprate, I have never had this problem. When was the last time you replaced the CMOS battery?

Never, and I thought about that too. Soo tomorrow after work I'm going to buy a new cmos battery for it. Thank's for the responses franklin97355. Would it freeze if the settings were erong in the bios or that has nothing to do with it. Agian thank you for your responses and apperciate it a lot. David

Thank you for your responses but I think I got the problem solved just by changing the battery, well it's only been in for one day so will see. But thank you who ever responded my questions, I trully apperciate it. David
