Does anyone know how can I bind a DataGrid to a DataSet to a XMLConnector on a frame other than the first one?

When all these components appear on the first frame it all works fine, but moving them to another frame loses the binding.

I even tried creating a movie clip and putting all the components in the movie clip, and placing the movie clip in a later frame - doesn't work if it's not the first frame..

Thanks,
Y.

They must all be in the first frame. There is no way around that. If you are trying to accomplish a preloader then you should create a new movie and load your movie with the datagrid into that "parent" movie.

Hope that helps!

Wow JT that almost looked like you knew what you were doing!

Thanks so much for replying pixl8r.. I'm really stuck..

I tried loading the movie with a preloader, and although my SWF works perfectly alright by itself, when loaded thru the preloader, it gets stuck on a frame, with the empty data grid bouncing around, and the following error message:

256 levels of recursion were exceeded in one action list.
This is probably an infinite loop.
Further execution of actions has been disabled in this movie.

If I load a SWF with no Data components thru the same preloader it works fine..

any ideas what's wrong?

Thanks again!

Y.
