We are upgrading our NW 3.12 server to a faster computer. I've created the NW partition, volumes and have copied all the files from the old server to the new server. The new server is also running NW 3.12. The final task is the user accounts. Does anyone know how to back up the bindery on the old server and restore it on the new server -- that way I don't have to manually enter 75 users. From there, I will use Tback to copy the trustee rights to the new server. Thanks.

1) Do a BINDFIX on the old server and copy 3 files – net$obj.old, net$prop.old and net$val.old from \system of the old server to the new server:

[you will be able to get 3 files namely net$obj.old, net$prop.old and net$val.old]

NOTE: BINDFIX shuts down the bindery files so users cannot access them. (run BINDFIX when no users are using the network.) Then BINDFIX rebuilds and reopens the bindery files.

2) After you got the 3 *.old file in your new server, do a BINDREST from \system of the new server:

NOTE: (Before you run BINDREST, make sure all users have logged out of the network.) You must run BINDREST from the SYS:SYSTEM directory. It will restores the previous version (the 3 *.old files that you copied from the old server) of the bindery files]
