Hi All
it is absolutely possible to bind an extension to a specific phone on an Avaya IP Office 500 v2 system, preventing it from being used on another phone

I think you can use a specific IP address at each end.

You need to check your DHCP set up for this.

It would be nice if we had an option to map a MAC address to an extension number to save the users needing to log the phone in, but nope.

I would be very happy to be proved wrong on his

Not something I have needed to do but you can set the IP address on the phone manually then match this in extension-VOIP.

Looking at the help

SIP Extension VoIP
IP Address Default = 0.0.0.0
The IP address of the phone. The default setting accepts connection from any address. If an address is entered, registration is only accepted from a device with that address.

It only binds the extension to an specific IP. It is I’ll not avoid registration of another extension to that device.

The extension bind to the specific ip won't be used by other device,
Instance i have 2 ip phones
A ---> registered to 1000
B ---> registered to 1001
If i have bought new phone C, by mistake if i try to login with user 1000 will login and the other phone will logout
i want prevent this behavior

I was suggesting setting up the IP address manually on the phone rather than it being allocated by DHCP. Of course someone can change that if they really wanted.
Perhaps the OP could test?

Just put a password in the extension tab but NOT in the Telephony Supervisor settings. The phone will never be allowed to log out. Any other phone can login to that ext though. If you really need no other phone to be able to login, take the dchp address the phone got and make it static and put that ip in the extension tab.
