Our 2k server continually tells people that to many people are attatched and kicks them offline when we have like 150 licenses + still unused. It also gets really really slow when moving files sometimes and even hangs up peoples computers when trying to open spreadsheets. When I reboot everything works fine again for a few hours and then it returns back to the same state....does anybody know what possibly could be causing this? ANY advice would be helpful thanks

Bill

just a thought ...

maybe there is some application that opens connections to the server and leave them unclosed ? maybe some of our own apps that do it ? try to put auditing on your server to watch the activity ...

Oddly enough.. this is one hundred percent true..

Also.. perhaps you ahve set (somewhere) a max users limit on a folder or device shared by the server.... I remember we did this in an organization and it left us baffled for a few hours...

I innocently said.. there is no way that we set max connections on this folder.. did we?... sure enough.. we did.. to 10? in an organization of 200? hrm.. right! Must have been a simple mistake!
