Hi All....

Newbie Question...

I have 2 T1 internet circuits from 2 diverse providers. They will both terminate into the same router. The goal is to perform failover. In other words, one of the lines will be on standby. I will be accepting Default routes (no full or partial).

My question is can a 2620 handle BGP in the way i have explained above..ie memory... Also I want to know what the commands are for getting some of the router specs..again memory and things of that nature..Thanks

If you only want to accept the default route from two providers then a 2620 will work and you won't need a lot of memory. Make sure you learn how to configure filters so that you never accept anything other than a default route.

Use "show version" to see how much DRAM and flash you have on the router.

HTH,
John
