Can any one please give the the advantages disadvantages or reasons why BGP would be on an access router with only 6 clients that has one 64k connection into the core network?
Perhaps if the core network ran iBGP. (heaven forbid) But, even then, I don't see the use as a static route probably would have worked just as well. Yes, it would know if a route went down which may save some time, but it seems like overkill.
alot of telcos have standard configs and bandwidth may not be taken in to account..
if you have one point of entry into the core then no matter what size link you have a default route would do the trick..
over a 64k link i would especially want to stay away from a routing protocol because of the amount of bandwidth that could be taken by the routing protocol itself due to updates etc.
