I have bgp setup to my providers When I do a show ip bgp "network address" it shows the route as not being advertised to any peers. I have the statement in my bgp as network xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.252.0 my provider has it in there acl as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 255.255.252.0

In the sh ip bgp it is showing it as xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/11

How can I fix this so Ic an announce these addresses to my provider.

Thanks
Ron

Ron,
Try adding the statement 'no auto-summary' in the BGP configuration. Todd Hethmon

I have this statement added in and still a no go. Any other suggestions.

Thanks Again
Ron

Try going into your router bgp AS# and setting the ISP router AS# and ip address as the neighbor BGP. This should help (unless you've already done this). Just a thought, I know it's a basic move but hey..shrug never know.

Terry,

I have done this already. All of my other networks are being annouced except this one. It is stuck on the wrong CIDR information in the route table. So instead of being xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/22 it is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/11

Thanks
Ron

Ron,
If you just do a 'show ip route xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx' what does it show? Are you running 'synch' or 'no synch' on BGP? Todd Hethmon
thethmon@hethmon.com

Ohh by that I meant doing this:

Router_A(config-router)#neighbor 192.3.4.5 remote-as 65500

I know in some cases when updating BGP you may have to clear the bgp table and reload the router. This may be one of those instances.

P.S. > If you're using 12.x IOS Synchronyzation is turned on by default. This could also be causing a problem, a router learning a route via IBGP will wait until the IGP has propagated the route within the entoire AS and only then will it advertise the route to external peers.

Hope that helps as well. sorry if it doesn't.

I suggest to turn off synchronization feature :

(config-router)#no synchronization

and it's not necessary to reload your router, try :

#clear ip bgp neigh_ipadd soft out

cheers,
