I open a page done in CD 10. I want to draw a line with the "Freehand" tool. It draws it. Then, when I go to the menu to change the line width I get the A.R.M. that says the program has become unstable and I have to exit. It happens with the bezier tool as well. It doesn't occur when I'm in a new drawing. Or if I open the art with Illustrator and save it as an ".ai" file and then open that file up with CD 11, it's fine. I rebooted into "safe mode" and ran CD 11 and it does the exact same thing. Is there something buggy in CD 11 that causes this? Any ideas? I've got well over 100 pages of CD 10 drawings that I am going to have to work on and this could prove to be a real pain. I'm running XP Pro with AMD 1700+ and 512mb DDR memory.

I had a similar problem. I found there is usually one element (an imported graphic, line, or something) that cause this to happen. If you have any impoted images (i.e. Desktop publishing work) remove the images, then try drawing your line and saving. If it works, and you can re-open the image, then you can re-import your pictures. Sometimes just copying and pasting the images from the "bad" file to the "new" file alleviates this problem.

Ugly yes, but usually effective.

One other thing to try.

Export the file as a CMX (Presentation Exchange) and import into a new document. Doing this "trashes" the styles in the document, and with it, any potential corruption. I have had it "fix" a number of documents in the past

GREAT PROBLEMS, GREAT SOLLUTIONS...

IT IS INTERESTING TO KNOW IF YOU ARE WORKING WITH AN ORIGINAL SOFTWARE, UNFORTUNATELY, CRACKED SOFTWARE IS NOT TRUSTABLE, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MANY TIMES WITH MANY OTHER PROGRAMS, 3D MAX FOR EXAMPLE. SO, IF YOUR ANSWER IS "YES" TO THIS QUESTION, I SUGGEST YOU TO WORK WITH A TRUSTABLE VERSION 10.0

IF YOUR ANSWER IS "NO" IF YOU HAVE AN ORIGINAL SOFTARE THEN YOUR IN A BIG TROUBLE CAUSE THIS SHOULDNT BE HAPPENING.

P.D. TRY TO GET ANOTHER VERSION OF C.D. 11

Thanks much for all of your help. Exporting it out and bringing it back in new did the trick.
