Bexec 8.6 remote agent install

Im trying to install a remote agent on an 8.6 server. I get the error that bexec is still running and i cant install - even after stopping the services? anyone had this problem before? it works if i reboot the server but that cant be right?

Why are you trying to install remote admin on the BE server? Remote Agent to the best of my knowledge is for the client servers, not the one where BE 8.6 resides. Hope this helps.

Does installing the remote agent involve purchasing an additional license for BackUP Exec?

Don't install remote agent on the server that BE is running on, don't need it.

Yes, remote agents for servers are seperate and come in 1 and 3 packs.

Workstations don't need remote agents.
