Better Switchboard manager?

Does anyone here know of a better switchboard manager? There are a few changes I would love to see made, among them - and most obviously is having the ability to code 10-12 buttons on a page instead of the meager 8 (why only 8?!?!?).

Anyhow if anyone knows of an improved one out there I wanna know. I have searched on both appropriate forumsn as well as google, but none seem to work quite right.

So far all I've done is modify the results that the wizard produce. Strangely enough, adding support for vb function call with parameters and conditionally displaying certain buttons based on the person that logged into my application doesn't seem to prevent me from using the wizard from creating new pages. However, using the wizard to alter hand-modified pages probably wouldn't work.

In any case, it would be very nice to have an open-source switchboard wizard so we could enhance it with our favorite extentions.

Thanks for all the responses. I have hacked the code too at times, but it just seems to me that with all the skilled people out there and everyone doing work arounds, that someone would have just made their own. And done it in a way that works well.
Possibly even adding a certain level of security and more buttons. Just think of all the time it ouwld save. . . oh well. I will continue to dream and if I ever get good enough I may do it myself (and just when will that be???? lol)
