The data-bound grids that come with VB6 leave much to be desired. As much as I prefer VB6 over Access, I have to admit the Datasheet in Access is much nicer than any of the grids that come with VB6.

Does anybody know of where I could get a nicer grid to use for VB6?

You can search this forum for threads that have discussed better grids.

Which grids are you trying to use and what are you trying to do with them? I admit that grids can be tricky but with a little code the grids can do more than you think. Thanks and Good Luck!

With the dataGrid half of the scrollbar is cut off vertically. Also using the wheel on the mouse doesn't scroll you up and down as it does in the Access datasheet. Another thing, when you edit a cell in the dataGrid control, you have to press enter in order to move the focus to another cell. Also, when a certain cell gets focus, the text alignment changes.

I'd like to see a grid control for VB that looks and acts like the datasheet in Access.

once again, search the forum. I know this has been discussed before. its always best to search first...

I use FarPoint Spread control... it is more of a spreadsheet control than a grid... but it is VERY powerful and very solid. It can be very manual at times (coding wise), but that is part of it's flexibility. We got rid of all of the other grids (MS Flex, Databound, Sheridan, etc) and exclusively use this spreadsheet now. Check it out.

I use the Videosoft Flexgrid and the Apex TrueDB grid. But I always keep an open mind for new ones. Keep me posted on tips. The gap between theory and practice is not as wide in theory as it is in practice.
