best way to set up WUS in gpo's

saw a thread here a while back about setting dif ou's gpo's for WSUS any one know were it is or give me some of your ideas in your trusted ways thanks

I recently attended a class on WSUS for Microsoft Certified Partners and we used 3 GPOs.

1. GPO with all shared information for server and workstations. This GPO pushes out the WSUS server info.
2. Server GPO. This GPO says to download and notify for install or Download and install. No Auto-Reboot.
3. Workstation GPO. Download and install.

If you are using a WUS beta you should download a fresh copy and get WSUS. (yes, the name changed again). WSUS has a number of new GPO settings for it that will make the management better.

Almost. It is out of Beta and now in RC (Release Candidate)

The software it needs is already installed if you have WIndows XP.

We have a mix of 2k SP4 and XP at the moment will the 2k PC's download it from the WSUS server automatically?

The feature set looks impressive i'll definatly be using WSUS as soon as it's finished.

bofhrevenge2, Yes your 2K machines should not have a problem talking to the WSUS server.
