What is the best way for a vendor to remotely connect to multiple client BCM's for management?

I would assume VPN is the safest but its a bit cumbersome since all our clients use different firewalls.

Thanks to all for the help.

Dialup is what 90% of my customers use. The other 10% are split between Citrix web access, VPN and no remote access at all.

VPN is nice from a speed perspective, but a lot of customers are leary of giving us that kind of access.

Thanks biv343.

Here is a silly question... how do you dialup into a BCM?

Connect a modem line to the BCM, then make a dial up networking connection to the device (same as a RAS connection to any Windows server). Use the ee_admin account to authenticate.

This assumes you're in the North American market - it's different in the UK, not sure how it's done in CALA.

Is it correct to say that I need to connect at phone line to the modem port on the front of the BCM and configure the RAS that runs on windows NT? Is this something that is configured in the BCM?

You just need to connect the modem - the RAS service runs by default. All parameters are configured and ready to go out of the box (unless you're talking about a BCM 50, in that case, you need to enable the modem and specify the trunk that will be used for the modem).
