Running a Partner ACS 7 with Messenging Release 7. FINALLY getting started with auto attendant.

FOr the staff demo, I used some computer generated messages from type in scripts for the menu tree. Staff don't want to use the computer voice and want to use a human voice. We are working on the scripts. What is the best/easiest way to get the auto attendant messages loaded up to the system?

I was thinking of using a iPod or other dictation system and upload the wav files created, but then I have the 8K issue. ALl of my programming of both the ACS and voicemail has been with the GUI's, so I like this method.

In reviewing the manuals, I can record the prompts via the touchtone pad, but I fear it might be difficult for the person who is doing the recording.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I setup the Partner Messaging using the computer GUI but I always end up recording the messages by dial in from a phone. The recordings seem or are better unless you have a good mic/recording system. With the customer it usually take about 15 miuntes to go through how to change the message. I go through it from the diagram on the last page of the manual, writing out the codes you put into the phone before ever trying on the phone. You need to explain: the hidden "9" menu, selecting the auto attendent #, and that they need to "select modify the menu hough option 6 and press *# to get to the auto attendent prompt. Then I have them do it 2x on the phone and record the prompt the 2nd time.

I beleieve this is the sequence. I am doing it from memory so be sure to check it.

enter voicemail:Int 777
enter mailbox: 0#
enter Password: ??????? followed by #
enter hidden menu: 9
enter for the auto attendent: 3
Missing from diagram enter Auto Atttedent number: x (no#)
Select Day or Night: 1
Select to Modify: 6
immediate press to end changes: *#
now follow directions to change Prompt.

Here is the way we do it, its the best in my eyes and allows you to move things around without having to re-record, something that you DO have to do if you dial in.
Since we have integrated Unified Messaging with out PARTNER ACS, we call a VM on the system, and record the messages on their VM. Forward the WAV file to the admin (me) and then upload onto the system via the PC admin software.
This way you can change recordings for like a holiday and not loose the original, and its A LOT EASIER because you dont have to deal with all those menus, its all GUI based.
Let me know if you have any questions, im not an expert, FAR from it, but can help to a certain extent.

Good customer training/instuction is always the best method.
