Hi,

I have a form displaying room information. It has 3 tabs, and one of the tabs has a subform of continuous records. There is a lot of data on this form.

I would like to give my user the option to print the information for a room. I'm curious if the "standard" (whatever that is) way to do this is to have a command button that produces an Access Report, or if there is a way to print the form as is.

Also, do folks generally set up toolbars for printing purposes, or use command buttons?

Thanks.

Most definitely make a report. Personally I use command buttons to run reports. But there is nothing wrong with using a toolbar either.

As was mentioned, I would use a report. When you have data that you know is going to variable, such as your subform data, allow the textbox to grow (textbox properties Grow=Yes). Depending on the width you set for the text box, the data will wrap at the right side of the textbox and continue showing data on the next line till it's all been displayed. All other elements in the report will move down the page or to the next page if needed. Anything in the report header will appear on the first page and not on the next. Anything in the page header will appear on all pages. Keep that in mind if you are using column headers for your data. Same goes for the corresponding footers.
