Hi,
What would be the best way to see if a PC hooked up to a LAN hased been hacked. Today at work my port 110 was in accesible. Browsed the net, disabled my fire, rebooted, reset the modem and switch, rebooed again..This got me thinking, and then one of my emails were never received...on my personal fire "zone alarm" on the task bar where the In:OUt lies this little red and yellow tag...
Is there a good way of knowing, any programs or scripts i should look for...
Thanks...)

Check out the "General Security discussion" in the MIS/IT section. They have have a lot of information that can prove helpful.

I recently checked my PC for hacks and by entering the netstat -an command in msdos
I had the following report
port 1026
port 47624 are active (listening) these are hacks as I believe any port figure greater
than 1024 is one. Does any body know who these are as I cannot find these numbers on the trojan backdoor ports websites

Look at the following threads and FAQs: thread83-95670, thread83-126201, thread83-127776, thread83-18481, faq83-395. James P. Cottingham
