Best version (or patches) of FoxPro 2.6 for DOS 1

We are using "FoxPro 2.6 (X) (c) 1989-1994 Microsoft Corporation" in a production environment. I have seen several mentions of 2.6a on this board and also occasionally come across references to various "patches" to resolve other bugs in the program.
Can anybody (or bodies) provide a succinct description of the differences between 2.6 and 2.6a and further, is there a source giving details of patches, what they address, whether they are stable and so on?
Finally, given that the outcome is a reccommendation to change from 2.6 to 2.6a, does anyone know where this, or any other patches might be available?
