Best Sound Card?

Building a new system, and am in need of a decent sound card. I know that what you recommend is based on what I will be using it for - everything. CD Audio, mp3 playback...

I'm running a K7VZA mobo with an AMD Athalon T-Bird 1.4 GHz. Also have an ATI AllInWonder video card, and will be running W2K pro with the latest drivers and service packs.

I have been researching various conflicts other people have been having, but have not come to any suitable conclusions.

Any feedback at all is appreciated.

I use the Sound Blaster Live and it works well with W2K. Just visit there web site for updated drivers and software.

I, too, have the K7VZA, but I would not recommend getting an SB Live! card. It has "issues" with VIA's chipset. Check out Creative's new Audigy sound card. The specs look great. ** Gerry White
