What would be the best 3d agp graphics card for a 250w PSU? (fortron fsp250 PNA (pf))

It would help if we had more than just the wattaged of the power supply!
Motherboard/CPU/AGP etc

My 250W PSU is loaded with is a Radeon9600XT with an Athlon XP2000 and 768Megs of memory. It's been working nicely since a couple of years now.

I looked at the X1600Pro AGP, for which ATI recommends to have a 350W PSU in the system.

To add to what Paparazi says, I'm pretty sure that my actual system would still work with an X1600, but if there was an Intel P4 at 3+ gigs I would not bet on it and I'd get a 350W Antec. It depends on how loaded your system is.

Not Being selfish just a complete novice lol!!
I have a pentium 4
704ram
2 hard drives
cd dvd drive

A 600 watt power supply on pricewatch.com is only $20 after shipping. Cheap? Yes, but better than your 250 watt.

Cheers
Rob

My PSU is properirty ( packard bell) and cannot be upgraded plus I havent a penny to me name!!

I'd say you are pretty on the limit with what you are already powering.
The Fortron PSU is good quality so it could probably power a low end Nvidia or ATI card.
Something like:
Geforce FX 5500 or Radeon 9550 in AGP8 X
