Hi,

What would your recommendations be for an asp.net editor?

I've used visual studio before, which was very helpful with colour coding and auto suggest prompts, however I'm put off the installation due to the sheer size of the package.

I googled that myself, but want some brief real answers from developers rather than a haystack of marketing information...

VS w/ R# (resharper).

you can control certain components of VS. for example if you use C# or VB exclusively then only install the language of your choice, not both. If you don't write reports do not install Crystal Report components, etc. It's still a large install, but you do not need the entire suite.

Hi,
I built and deployed some very complicated apps using just a very good text editor, UltraEdit32, that had the ability to color code code sections and do other syntax highlighting as well - it does not have the auto-suggest or suto-complete features as dedicated .NET editor/deleopers tools but works just file ( and can open/save to a web site or FTP server)..
