Best Approach to Get data from three differrent sources

Hello Everyone!


I'm using Crystal XI R2

I'm working on a report that pulls data from three differrent databases,one of which is a universe.

I have three subreports from each database ,It's working fine as long as we pick less parameters,But there might be chances that the user picks all the parameters ,this is when i have trouble.It takes forever.

Please advise me the bestway to do the report.

All the three databases has matching fields.

Please let me know whatelse information i need to rpovide.

Basically i have show the summaries based on the parameter combinations.

Each time you call a subreport, it does its own request to the server for data. If you can link the databases, there should be just one request.

If you use SQL and can edit it, you might find it more efficient to collect the data that way.

Yes iam linking the three databases.

One is SQL Srver and the other is DB2 and the other one is a Universe.

Please guide me .

Get hold of them using Database Expert. If they will link, that should be fine. I'm just now developing a report that uses e-mail details from two different databases, but the tables link fine because they use different customer numbers.

I've no experience linking databases that aren't SQL. If it proves a problem, post a new thread explaining it.
