I've searched the forum and haven't seen anything similar to this. I have a BES 4.0 and 5 users. We all use Outlook 2003 with our 5.5 Exchange Server. I can set a user up on the BES and do the wireless activation no problem. Email works great. I run into problems when I try to sync my Blackberry with the Desktop Manager. We don't keep contacts, tasks, etc. on the Exchange Server, we keep them in our local .PST file on our laptops. On the Blackberry, in the Options section of Address Book, Calendar, Tasks, and MemoPad I change the Wireless Synchronization to NO. I then go into Desktop Manager and go to Configure PIM where I point all 4 items to the local .PST file. After I synchronize with the handheld, I can receive emails, but I can't send (or reply) to emails. Anybody ever run into this??

The best option is to setup everythin on exchange server so that you wont hv trouble in syncing.I had this issue with our users and finally i figured out that PST thing is a mess and wont work on what u need, as our company didn have any restricitions on using contacts etc on exch server we were pretty much ahead of the game.. I jus needed to import the data from pst and host it on the mailbox.. I am interested to know if this pst thing ever worked for anyone..

I did finally get it working where I can sync with my local PST file. The trick is to create a second mail profile that points to your exchange mail account only. Then go into Desktop Manager, Redirector Settings, Advanced tab, and click the Profile Settings button. In there, select Always use this profile and then choose the "exchange only" profile you created. Then you can go into your Intellisync settings and set it up to sync with your local PST.

If your e-mails are being directed to the .PST as well, that's your problem. The e-mail you read on the BB has been forwarded. When you reply, there has to be the e-mail in the inbox to action.
