BeNT 8.6- device not visible for cleaning job ?

Hi All


i am trying to run a cleaning job on an Hp surestore DAT8 device but not having any luck. I am familiar with running cleaning jobs on our other DLT drives.

When trying to generate a new cleaning job- the device never appears in the selection box? Device status is otherwise ok- i can run inventories etc on tapes immediately before creating the new cleaning job so i know the drive is working, but the device is not selectable at this time? Any ideas? Have tried stopping/restarting the services with no luck.

If this is a stand alone drive (not a changer) then just insert the cleaning tape and when it ejects, the cleaning job is finished. Don't worry about the fact that it does not appear in the selection box. Also, after you clean, make sure to go to the device tab, right-click on your drive/device, highlight cleaning and reset your cleaning statistics.
