We are debating the pros and cons of giving users Admin rights on the desktop machines. I have been assigned to researching the benefits of doing this, and am coming up short, so i'm looking for experiences any of you have regarding this issue. Anything you can give will help greatly! Thanks.

there are times where modifying the profile isnt allowed without admin rights. Some legacy apps don't work without it.

I give admin rights throughout to local machine but no other units. If they break that one, the next RIS'd box doesnt have them as admins.

Thanks for the response! Anyone else have anything to add??

Saves time when they wish to install software that may not be readily supplied to users ie: Messenger. However understand the opposite side of the coin they can also totally destroy their machine.

I am a strong advocate against it. I'd rather get a few calls from my users requesting the added software installation, then to have to debug unauthorized or misconfigured software.
