Hi, i have a Belkin wireless ADSL router ( F5D7633-4 ), it started out working fine, i'v used XP desktops and laptops onit, a 98 laptop and Vista Laptops, but it seem to have a fault.

For test puposes i'm currenly only using one XP desktop to run all tests. When i have to Xp machine connected via eathanet to the router, and the router connected to the phone line through a filter ( with all phones on filter) is wont find a connection, in the log it says 'ADSL link down'. Some times the log says 'messages exanged' before dropping out.

BUT, the worst thing is thatif i use exacly the same equipment with the supplied USB modem then everything works (exept dropping out when theres a phone call). There are no messages on our answer phone.
I'm not an amuture on this topic, but this one beats me!

The fact that it drops out when there is a phone call tells me that you either have a defective filter or you have a cordless phone that is interfering with your DSL signal.

Can you ping the router's IP address with your ethernet link?

I hope you are not trying to run your ADSL modem signel though a filter ? The DSL modem gets a direct connect to the phone line all outher phone div. need filters, don't forget sat. Dishs and alarm systems. I have also found filters that when put on backwards. Phone ringing and dsl dropping is a sign of bad filtering.

It's a two part filter, high pass and low pass, it has a DSL output and a phone output, and obisvoisly its connected into the DSL
