Hi,
I am a fairly new with Crystal Reports 8.5. I have to integrate the reports tool into my ASP application so that the end-user can customise it for him/her self.
To give a brief description of the application, it is in ASP, running on IIS and Oracle 9i as the Backend.
Can anyone please tell me how I have to start ? How does one go about meddling the reports tool and how does one integrate it within ASP?
Thanks

Like choosing the fields that appear in the reports..some may want just the cost to show up, while some may want all the details associated with that cost.

If you are giving the user a limited set of options, you could create 2 or 3 different versions of your details band, suppressing the appropriate ones based on a parameter field. Then you could pass the parameter in from your code.

If they want to select any fields in any order, on the fly, then you may need to go to using unbound fields, which is quite a bit more complex. Search for this topic in the crystal KB. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
