Beginner Programmer VC++ : Problems with List View Control

Hello, When i add a list view control to a dialog box the dialog box isn't showing. the DialogBox() function is returning immediately. If i remove the List View control from the dialog box, it shows and works fine. Do you know what could be the possible reason?.

I also want to add that the same happens for a spib box control (a.ka. up-down control)
