I am a beginner and I am writing a desktop clean up program that will move all .txt files to the folder Text, all .mp3 files to the folder MP3, etc.. I can create the folders but cannot figure out how to move every file of a certain extension to its corresponding folder. As I said before I am a beginner and have been trying to get this program to work for three weeks of and on. Thank you for your help.

thanks but that is a little to complicated, I am doing a simple windows console application that will do all of this without any input from the user except for launching the program. An example of how what it would look like doing it with a text file is more of what I am looking for.

Just take a look at the code an how the files are moved, that will give you a good point to start.

Otherwhise, google for move files c++ and around.

Cheers,
Dian
