I am a 37 year old and interested in getting into the IT field. Specifically I am pursuing a degree in Telecommunications and want to obtain certifications to get my foot in the door while still in school. Is the CCNA a good place to start. What other certifications will help me to break into the industry. Thanks

It really depends on what type of job you want to do. If you want to work on routers, switches, etc, CCNA is excellent. If you want to be a Network Admin for Windows, MCSE.
What do you want to do?

Thanks,

If you are studying telecommunications, perhaps Cisco CCNA would be a place to start, and you could eventually specialise in Voice Over IP, or something of the like...

I would also suggest you start with Cisco.

There courses are very good. They are the same boot camp that you would get at Boston University.

Every course was written by the trainers at American interactive and have been perfected over time. They have done Corporate training for the Military and defense companies as well as many others. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
